More Baby bugs!

babysweetleaf

This is one of our brand new baby Leaf Insects! They're very similar to stick insects, but they're, y'know, shaped like leaves. They eat bramble and rose leaves in captivity, and sometimes the babies need us to cut the thicker leaves for them, they're not very strong. Much like thier stick insect counter parts, our leaf insects rely uppon camophlage to conceal themselves from predators, they have no natural defences. Thankfully this tactic works like a charm! They are virtually invisible until they move.

Our new babies have a lot of growing to do before they're adults- as you can see they're not even green yet! But hopefully in a few months they're be big and strong enough to hold.
