This is Roachy Balboa, one of our lovley Hissing Cockroahes! You can tell Roachy is a boy because he has those two bumps on his head. Boy cockroaches have little ‘horns’ they use to head-butt each other to impress female cockroaches. Our Madagascan hissing roaches aren’t like the horrible American or German cockroaches you might find infesting grotty buildings, they’re much more happy in dark, humid places like rotten logs and under rocks. They’re only interested in eating decaying vegetable matter, so they don’t pose a threat to our food either.
