Nigel's tongue

Lion Learners corn snake Nigel

This is Nigel, one of our stunningly beautiful corn snakes. Snakes have a weird way of finding their prey- they taste their way towards their prey using their tongue! This is why a snake is constantly flicking it’s tongue in and out of it’s mouth. It constantly tastes the air, searching out a tasty morsel, in much the same way that we would sniff with our nose to find some tasty food. We eat very different things though; Nigel is only interested in eating mice.
